For vast majority of companies, data management has been a very hot subject for quite some time now. The first wave of attempts to take control of data took the form of data warehousing. Unfortunately, this approach turned out to be limited in scope and failed to allow for the use of all the available data.
The next evolutionary step moved business organizations into the data lake space. However, the number of failed data lakes – in reality data swamps – evidently suggests otherwise.
